Four Tet (6 Hour Set)
Four Tet steps up for our XX series. Undoubtedly one of the UK’s most prominent electronic musicians, over the last two decades Kieran Hebden has carved a musical sound world that’s completely his own. Following a stint in the post-rock group Fridge through the 90s he found a home for his early studio productions on the revered indie label Domino, while recent years have seen him putting out an acclaimed body of work through his own imprint, Text. Whether he’s crafting his own experimentalist ambient compositions, writing futurist garage cuts with Burial or dropping mysterious dancefloor edits of the likes of Nelly Furtado, with every record Hebden releases he maintains an allure matched by few other artists. As well as his engrossing productions and live performances, he’s equally gifted as a DJ, something we know from hearing his expansive collection of leftfield house, garage and dubstep at FABRICLIVE throughout our history. This September, he returns for the first time in five years. Joining him is Willow, the Manchester artist who’s recently become one of the UK’s most in-demand selectors. Behind the decks, Willow mixes a rich blend of deep house and techno – a sound she famously developed following a killer breakthrough release on Workshop. Willow prepares to warm up our Room One space, while Four Tet heads on an extended six-hour voyage for what should be another memorable Sunday session marking our 20th anniversary.
Proceeds from the night will be donated to the Help Refugees charity to fund their vital work supporting refugees and displaced people in 14 countries across the world, providing everything from food, to emergency medical care, education to psychological support. Resident Advisor will also be donating 100% of the booking fees from the ticket sales to support the cause.
